The haunting universe of Fear Street is set to expand further as R.L. Stine, the mastermind behind the beloved teen horror series, has revealed that three more films are in development. Fans of the spine-chilling tales, who were captivated by Netflix‘s Fear Street trilogy in 2021, can now look forward to returning to Shadyside for more terrifying thrills.

The Fear Street series, a YA horror classic with over 80 million copies sold by 2010, first debuted in 1989 with The New Girl and spans 51 core books. In addition, R.L. Stine expanded the franchise with over 100 spinoffs beginning in 2014.
Blending slasher and supernatural elements, Fear Street follows a group of teens in the eerie town of Shadyside as they face off against sinister forces and lethal foes. Unlike Stine’s Goosebumps series, which caters to a younger audience, Fear Street is known for its older characters and darker, more intense storytelling—an aspect that sets it apart while highlighting Stine’s versatile appeal across different age groups.
The forthcoming Fear Street: Prom Queen is inspired by Stine’s 1992 novel of the same name. Set in 1988, the narrative follows the competition among five prom queen candidates at Shadyside High, whose rivalry escalates into a series of mysterious disappearances. The film features a diverse cast, including Katherine Waterston, Lili Taylor, Chris Klein, India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ariana Greenblatt, and Ella Rubin.
Fans can anticipate more chilling tales from Shadyside as these new installments progress through production.
