Tom Holland Swings Back in First Brand New Day Teaser — But MJ’s Gone

A new teaser for SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY has been released, and it is a video compiled with behind-the-scenes footage of the movie. We see Tom Holland back in the red-and-blue suit, swinging across streets, leaping from rooftops, and even trying to open up a tank in the middle of what looks like a massive chase scene. You can watch the teaser below.

Spiderman And MJ’S Relationship Finally Over?

Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Ned are back, but this time Peter’s personal life will look very different. The relationship between Peter and MJ is officially over, and according to reports, it won’t even be mentioned in Brand New Day.

The Punisher And Hulk Joins The Cast

But Peter won’t be without allies or challenges. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher, makes his MCU film debut here. Known for his brutal sense of justice and willingness to cross lines that Spider-Man never would, Castle’s inclusion suggests the story may lean darker and more morally complicated than past entries. Whether he’s an uneasy ally or an outright threat remains to be seen, but his street-level presence is sure to shake things up.

Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, AKA The Hulk, also joins the mix. Hulk’s appearance is crucial because it could signal a link to larger MCU events, possibly setting the stage for the long-rumored Doomsday crossover because there was not a big moment of Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four: First Steps, and there is speculation that Brand New Day might quietly feed into that storyline, especially if Hulk’s role involves warning Peter about a bigger cosmic or multiversal danger brewing in the background, and there is a rumored fight where Spider-Man and Punisher join to fight the Hulk.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings seems to be aiming for a balance: gritty, close-quarters action mixed with the scale of big Marvel set pieces. The Glasgow filming featured high-speed chases, massive explosions, and even full city blocks transformed into chaotic battlegrounds.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
