DCU’s ‘Lanterns’ Wraps Filming

The filming of Lanterns series has officially completed The confirmation came from actor Aaron Pierre, who revealed in a recent interview Pierre described the shoot as “enormous… of a grand scale in every sense of the word,” hinting at the ambitious production values and scope of the project.

James Gunn had promised earlier this year: Lanterns will serve as a major cornerstone in his revamped DC Universe, directly connecting to the overarching Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate.The story reportedly follows Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a murder that leads to a much bigger cosmic revelation.

A “Grand-Scale” Production

Pierre’s comments about the shoot being “of a grand scale” have already sparked excitement among fans online. The series reportedly filmed across multiple locations and utilized advanced visual effects technology to bring the Green Lantern Corps to life.

The Future of DCU

Gunn has already stated that the series will connect directly to future films, teasing that its central mystery will have “major ramifications” for the rest of the DCU.

The series stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, the newcomer joining the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps. Nathan Fillion also reprises his role as Guy Gardner after debuting in Gunn’s Superman, while Kelly Macdonald joins as Sheriff Kerry, a central figure in the show’s Earth-based mystery. Other cast members include Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Nicole Ari Parker, and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, one of the most iconic villains in the Green Lantern mythos.

The series is directed by James Hawes, Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov, ensuring a cinematic feel throughout its eight-episode run.
